After graduating from West Virginia University College of Law in 1998, Laura began her career at one of the largest insurance defense firms in West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle. There, she represented insurance companies accused of acting in bad faith and breaching their contractual obligations, while also defending personal injury claims. That experience gave her a unique understanding of how insurance companies investigate claims, evaluate risk, assess exposure, and defend lawsuits.
In 2008, Laura made the decision to devote her practice exclusively to representing injury victims, grieving families, and policyholders. Since then, Laura has recovered millions of dollars through verdicts and settlements for clients. Her practice focuses on serious personal injury cases, wrongful death claims, uninsured and underinsured motorist claims, property insurance disputes, and insurance bad-faith litigation.
Laura is recognized for her thorough preparation, strategic advocacy, and commitment to her clients. She holds Martindale-Hubbell's AV Preeminent® rating, the organization's highest peer-review distinction for legal ability and ethical standards. A longtime leader in the plaintiffs' bar, Laura has served on the Board of Governors of the West Virginia Association for Justice for decades, and has lectured on insurance bad-faith law and related topics throughout her career. Laura founded Davis Insurance & Injury Law to provide clients with the experience, personal attention, preparation, and advocacy that serious injury and insurance disputes deserve.
